    Online orders and virtual camp make Clemson ice cream available to everyone

    The ’55 Exchange ice cream shop is adjusting due to COVID-19 and is now accepting online orders. In addition, the shop has transformed its Clemson Ice Cream Makers Day into a four-day virtual camp with two sessions in July. The virtual camp will cover the science of ice cream making and the creation of a signature Clemson Ice Cream flavor that will be shipped direct to each participant’s home.

    More than 1,300 students will receive Clemson University degrees in two graduation ceremonies on Thursday, Dec. 19. They are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum. In addition, Ph.D. candidates will participate in a doctoral hooding ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.

    Chris Loebsack has established the “Lectures in Law and Humanities Series, Endowed by Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC.” He believes the endowed lecture series will help create a more vibrant pre-law community at Clemson University and “provide educational fuel” to interested students. The inaugural event in the series will be a March 26 lecture by Matthew Desmond, the author of “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City,” a New York Times best seller that won a Pulitzer Prize.

    Clemson University has tapped a new leader for its food waste and sustainability initiative, Sonoco FRESH. Anne Barr will serve as the executive director of Sonoco FRESH, which is part of the university’s Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics.

Each day will feature at least one program or event designed to support, recognize or advocate for Clemson’s military community, culminating with the annual Military Appreciation Day football game on Saturday.
