CLEMSON — Clemson University kicked off the year by raising $18,900 at the annual Welcome Back Festival. The majority of the money will go to the Student Alumni Council Endowment Scholarship Fund, bringing the total raised for the fund over the last three years to more than $56,000.

“The Welcome Back Festival is a great example of the town-gown relationship that Clemson is proud of, and this festival is a wonderful way for local merchants, students and community members to give back to Clemson University in the form of scholarships,” said Stewart Summers, director of engagement for the Clemson Alumni Association.

The Welcome Back Festival features more than 70 vendors from restaurants, businesses and university organizations on College Avenue in downtown Clemson.

The Welcome Back Festival is hosted by the Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Council to bring new and current students together for a night of food, fun and fellowship.
