H1N1 nasal spray vaccinations will be given Friday to employees and students
The H1N1 vaccine for faculty, staff and students who are not in high-priority groups will be available for the first time Friday, Dec. 11, at the Hendrix Student Center.
This is the nasal spray vaccine, so healthy people from age 2 to 49 can be vaccinated.
The Centers for Disease Control has not approved the nasal vaccine for those age 50 and older, pregnant women and some others. The vaccine clinic will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the McKissick Theatre. It is free.
There are only about 300 of the vaccinations available now, although more is expected to arrive soon. It is not known when the injectable vaccine will be available.
Friday’s clinic is a joint effort between the Joseph F. Sullivan Center and Redfern Health Center.
