Former Clemson athletes, alumni to share advice on success at campus forum
CLEMSON – A panel of distinguished Clemson alumni, including former student athletes, will share advice for success and answer questions in an open forum at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Tillman Hall auditorium.
“From the Locker Room to the Boardroom: A Panel of Clemson’s Best and Brightest” will feature ONE Clemson cabinet members, including professional football players C.J. Spiller, Charlie Whitehurst and Dwayne Allen; Major League Baseball pitcher Kris Benson; former Clemson quarterback and radio personality Rodney Williams.
The panelists will discuss how they became leaders in their professions and offer advice for young adults to become successful, whether on the field or in the boardroom.
“This is a great opportunity for our students and community members to have a dialogue with some of our most distinguished alumni,” said Patrick Sapp, event organizer and development officer.
“Our students will be able to engage this panel with questions about how to be successful and how to use the Clemson experience in their own careers. These celebrities and business owners will share some of their individual experiences at Clemson that helped shaped their future as pro athletes and businessmen.”
ONE Clemson is an initiative that supports unity in athletics and academics. The advisory cabinet consists of former Clemson athlete standouts and successful business owners who work to raise funds for the ONE Clemson Initiative, which is a part of Clemson’s The Will to Lead capital campaign.
The event is free and open to the public. The first 500 people in attendance will receive a free ONE Clemson T-shirt. Visit the event website for more information.
