CLEMSON — Five new board members have been selected to serve three-year terms on the Clemson Alumni Association board of directors beginning July 1.

The new members are:

Lori Anne Carr of Ridge Spring, South Carolina, a two-time graduate of Clemson University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education in 1990 and a Master of Education in 1992. She currently serves as the vice president and administrative manager of Titan Peach Farms Inc. and is also the owner and president of Palmetto Processing Solutions. She has served on the university’s Board of Visitors and the Clemson University Foundation board and is a member of the Aiken County Clemson Club. Read more about Carr here.

Michael Clark of Fort Myers, Florida, earned his Bachelor of Science from Clemson in 1990. He is the president of United Mechanical Inc., a mechanical contracting company specializing in commercial and residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical service. He is a member of the Florida Gulf Coast Clemson Club and has served on the Parent Council Advisory Board. Recently, he created an endowed scholarship in his parents’ names, Hugh, ‘62, and Ruth. William “Bill” Thomas Linton III of Knoxville, Tennessee, a fourth-generation Clemson graduate. He earned his degree in industrial management in 1983 before earning his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1989. Linton worked as a marketing executive for Bush Brothers & Co. and Proctor & Gamble and also served as an active duty Army officer in the 82nd Airborne Division and 7th Special Forces Group. Melanie Pniewski of Aiken, South Carolina, graduated from Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2003 before earning a Master of Science from Michigan State University in 2008 and a post-master’s certificate from the Medical College of Georgia in 2013. Currently, she is a pediatric nurse practitioner with Tiffany Pediatrics in Aiken. Pniewski has held numerous positions in the Clemson Women’s Alumni Council, including treasurer and president. She also serves as the Women’s Alumni Council representative for the Aiken County Clemson Club. Read more about Pniewski here.

Brad Smith of Greenville, South Carolina, is a three-time graduate of Clemson University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in design in 1982 and Bachelor of Science in building science and management 1983 and a Bachelor of Arts in architecture in 1985. He currently serves as a managing principal architect with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture LLC. Smith has taken on many leadership roles since graduating from Clemson, including serving as a board member of the Clemson Architectural Foundation, on the Cancer Society of Greenville Country board of directors and as the president of the Poinsett Club Board of Governors. The alumni board has 22 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
