CLEMSON — The Clemson University Staff Senate is set to host the Second Annual Sprint for Success 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, to benefit the Staff Senate Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to Clemson students who are the children of university staff members.

The race will begin on Hwy. 93 in front of Sikes Hall on the Clemson University campus and end in front of Tillman Hall. The course is a certified 5K by U.S. Track and Field; click here to view a map of the course. Strictly Running will be keeping racing times.

Registration is $25 and can be done online at http://strictlyrunning.com, in person at the Staff Senate office in 801 University Union or the day of the race starting at 7 a.m. in the Carillon Garden.

There will be a $50 cash prize for the top male and female and medals for the top male and female for each age group: 12 & under, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

The event also includes a Kid’s Fun Run for children ages 2 and up. Registration for the Fun Run begins at 7 a.m., with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $10 and includes a free T-shirt with advance registration. Registration the day of the event is free (does not include T-shirt). A medal will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.
