CLEMSON — Clemson University will hold its inaugural Give Day April 6 in an effort to unite the Clemson Family in support of student, faculty and facility needs.

The event will provide students, faculty, staff, fans and alumni the ability to show their support of Clemson University. As The Will to Lead capital campaign enters the homestretch, Give Day is a perfect opportunity to help promote the importance of private giving and the power of individual donors.

This year, Clemson has established a private fundraising goal of $105 million to contribute to the Will to Lead campaign in its final year.

The campaign, which has a goal to raise $1 billion, began in 2006 to support students, faculty and facility needs. Individuals and organizations have given generously since that time to create much-needed scholarships, fellowships and professorships and support facility renovation and construction projects.

“Clemson’s first-ever Give Day is an opportunity for all members of the Clemson Family to unite and show the power of what we can do together,” said Michele Cauley, senior marketing director. “As we enter the home-stretch of the Will to Lead capital campaign, we’ll need everyone’s support to become the first public university with an alumni base of our size to raise $1 billion. Private support has never been more important to our students, faculty and ultimately to Clemson’s future success.”

There is no minimum gift amount, and all contributions are tax deductible. To make your gift, visit www.clemson.edu/giveday, or contact the Annual Giving office at 864-656-5896 or CUFUND-l@clemson.edu.

“Annual gifts, especially those made on Give Day, can be so impactful,” said senior director of annual giving Ann Smith. “We hope this Give Day will accomplish three things: unite the Clemson family in a powerful way, boost Clemson’s alumni participation rate and help push Clemson over the $1 billion Will to Lead Campaign goal.”
