Alumna who plans Rose Parade, Bowl events to speak at Clemson
CLEMSON — As special events manager for the Disneyland Resort and the head of her own event management business, Clemson University alumna Karen Mohr Sunshine works to make events like the “Granddaddy of Them All” — the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game — run smoothly.
She will share her experiences as a leading event planner at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in the Strom Thurmond Institute auditorium.
Sunshine has more than 25 years of experience in the meeting planning, event and travel business. She works part time at Disney, where she manages a range of events, including the Rose Parade, and is the owner of Plan it With Sunshine, a meeting and event planning business with clients including the Rose Bowl Game and Major League Baseball.
Sunshine earned her master’s degree at Clemson in parks, recreation and tourism management in 1994.
Her talk is open to the public, and will be carried live on ClemsonTV.
Sunshine’s address is part of the Clemson parks, recreation and tourism management department’s year-long observance of its 50th anniversary.
