Fifth Annual Chemistry Research Symposium open to public on March 14
CLEMSON – The College of Science’s department of chemistry will hold the fifth annual Chemistry Department Research Symposium from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 14, at the Watt Family Innovation Center. During the event, the chemistry department will share its research and accomplishments of the past year with the Clemson community.
Prospective graduate students will attend as part of their visitation weekend to learn about the research in the department and to interact with Clemson graduate students. Alumni, representatives from area industry and students from area public schools are also encouraged to attend. Coffee and refreshments will be served. The event is free.
This year’s keynote speaker is Suzanne Bell, Professor Emeritus at West Virginia University. Bell retired in 2019 but was the chair of the Forensic and Investigative Science Department while at WVU. The title of her talk, which will begin at 11:15, is “Building a Research Culture in Forensic Science.”
