Now, it’s expanding its engagement with the university through a new, two-year pilot program developed with the needs of the surgical device industry in mind and a generous gift of ten $7,500 scholarships.
Students and guests should plan to arrive early as security at the entrances to the coliseum may mean it will take a little extra time to find a seat. The university's clear bag policy will be in effect for the event and there will be walk-through metal detectors at the entrances of the Burton Gallery, the East Gate, the South Gate and the student entrance on the loading dock. Students who are participating in the ceremony are asked to refrain from bringing bags.
Two Clemson research projects, which explore human health and childhood learning and development, are heading to the Smithsonian for the 2019 ACCelerate Festival. Both will be on display in Clemson’s R.M. Cooper Library on March 14 (10 a.m.-noon, 1-4 p.m.) and 15 (10 a.m.-noon). Clemson University, Ain Shams University of Egypt and Huazhong Agricultural University of China are partnering to address some of today’s most pressing environmental and cultural issues through design. While the universities have participated in joint design projects in the past, leaders from the three institutions came together on Clemson’s campus today to formalize and advance their work together through the creation of the World Design Studio. Dozens of people surrounded a mock operating room to scrutinize in silence the smallest movements of a surgical team. Their observations, as well as the operating team’s critiques, will be collated and analyzed in the coming weeks as part of a joint project between Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to re-imagine the operating room.
