Clemson roots run deep in this Tiger.
It’s a new year and Clemson University’s South Carolina Botanical Garden is ready to teach gardeners some exciting new methods and techniques to help their gardens grow in 2017. The Garden’s 2017 Winter Lecture Series takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 11, 18 and 25 in the Hayden Conference Center, 156 Duck Pond Lane, Clemson.
With the assistance of Clemson Extension agent Jackie Jordan, meteorologist Jim Gandy has created a real-life garden on the grounds of WLTX-19, a CBS-TV affiliate in Columbia. At least twice a week, Gandy produces episodes titled “Gandy’s Garden,” in which he documents the successes – and occasional setbacks – of his organically grown plants.
