Student Health Services received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for adhering to the highest national standards for health care.

CLEMSON — Clemson University’s Student Health Services recently received a three-year reaccreditation and was awarded a Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission for complying with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care and commitment to continually improving patient care. The Joint Commission is the highest level of health care accreditation.

“I congratulate our staff for achieving reaccreditation from The Joint Commission,” said George Clay, executive director of Student Health Services. “By meeting these standards, our facility received an internationally recognized symbol of the highest quality in health care.”

Student Health Services is an integrated, outpatient organization comprised of three divisions: Medical Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Healthy Campus. Its mission is to provide quality medical and mental health care, public health leadership and initiatives that enhance the academic success of Clemson University students and to promote the health, safety and well-being of the campus community.

Redfern Health Center is Clemson’s on-campus home devoted solely to student care. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with the exception of Wednesday when the facility opens at 9 a.m. instead. For more information, contact Redfern at 864-656-2233.
