Staff members honored at Libraries’ Employee Recognition Day
Clemson University Libraries honored its outstanding staff at their annual employee recognition day event on Thursday, May 18. Employees were recognized for promotions, retirements, years of service, and other accomplishments. The Libraries also welcomed and acknowledged newly hired employees.
The 2016 Classified Staff Employee of the Year was awarded during the event. Seven staff members were nominated. They were: Rhonda Blurton, Ina Bootle, Diana Finkle, Fredda Owens, Carl Redd, Maggie Smith, and Michelle Voyles. The winner was Ina Bootle.
Ina is a member of Information and Research Services department and works in Charleston at the library at the Clemson Design Center. Ina was instrumental in moving the library to the Center’s new home in the Cigar Factory on East Bay Street. Not only did Ina manage the library move but she also managed the cleanup after the library flooded during Hurricane Matthew shortly after the Center opened.
The recipient receives an engraved silver tray and a cash award.
