Staff celebrates award winners while helping feed hungry students
Staff members in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences honored their colleagues and helped feed hungry students when they gathered Dec. 1 for an annual holiday luncheon in the Madren Conference Center.
Awards went to outstanding classified employees for performance, achievements, or accomplishments that are exemplary and that contribute to the success of the college.
This year’s winners were:
Hattie B. Wagener Endowed Classified Administrative Staff Award: Tonya Bledsoe, accountant/fiscal analyst II, college’s business office
Technical Award: David Moline, lab technologist III, Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Administrative Awards: Jennifer Hogan, student services program coordinator, Department of Bioengineering; and Ellen Sharpe, administrative coordinator I, Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences
Staff members were encouraged to bring items to donate to the Clemson Paw Pantry, which provides hygienic supplies and food to students in need. Donations filled a table outside the conference room before the start of the luncheon.
“As members of the Clemson Family, we are called upon to look after those in need,” said Kelly Collins, the chief of staff and operations for the college. “Your participation is most appreciated.”
Anand Gramopadhye, dean of the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, extended his wish to staff members that their holidays be filled with family and friends.
“It is with appreciation and affection that I say ‘thank you’ for making the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences such a vital part of the Clemson experience and a wonderful place to work,” he said. “Collectively, you all make an amazing team.”
