Clemson University’s Office of Information Security and Privacy will sponsor a Shred Day event on Monday, October 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chapin-based certified document destruction company Shred360 will provide shredding services on the northwest side of Littlejohn Coliseum (at the corner of Perimeter Road and Ravenel Road).

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and your personal information is like money. Value it. Protect it. When you no longer need it, shred it! Shredding materials containing personal information can help to combat identity theft.

Shred360 will shred sensitive items such as personal documents, transcripts, and receipts. Participants will be able to drive right up to have their materials shredded and destruction of paper-based products will be completed onsite at a mobile shredding unit.  Those who want to rid themselves of university- or personally-owned hard drives can do so any time of the year at the University Surplus on Perimeter Road. The facility offers a Department of Defense-approved hard drive crusher on site to physically destroy the hard drive.
