Having graduated from Clemson’s nationally recognized nursing program, this Tiger is back at Clemson, teaching good nurses how to be great nurses.

Meet Janice Garrison Lanham.

Title: Senior lecturer

Years at Clemson: 15

What I do at Clemson: I teach, advise and mentor undergraduate nursing students.

What I love about Clemson: Although I grew up in Greenville, Clemson has been home for me. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing at Clemson. My husband, Drew, is a distinguished alumni professor and an alumni master teacher at Clemson. He also completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees here. Our daughter, Alexis, graduated from Clemson with a degree in elementary education. Our son, Colby, completed both his undergraduate degree and graduate degrees her as well. As you can see, we are a Clemson family! We love it here! This place, these hills. We love the people and the campus and appreciate the opportunities our Clemson experiences have afforded us, both personally and professionally.

Accomplishment I’m most proud of: I’m proud of my family and my dog, Chase. I worked hard to get him certified as a pet therapy dog. He is currently participating in the BARK program at a local elementary school. The program encourages children to improve their reading skills and confidence by reading out aloud to certified therapy dogs.

Where I see myself in five years: Teaching at Clemson!

Last thing I watched on TV: Murder, She Wrote. I love watching murder mysteries (Columbo is my absolute favorite!)

Guilty pleasure: Fine red wine.

One thing people don’t know about you: I love to karaoke!
