Tiger Band Kidz Klub, mini-concert return to gameday weekends
CLEMSON — Tiger cubs once again will have the chance to get an up-close look at the talents and instruments of Clemson’s Tiger Band and football fans will be able to hear more music before each home game this season.
The Tiger Band Kidz Klub is open to all children aged 1 to 13. Meetings are at 5 p.m. the Friday before each home football game on the band practice field. This season’s meetings will be Sept. 26; Oct. 3, 10 and 24; and Nov. 21 and 28. The Kidz Klub provides an in-depth look at the instruments Tiger Band musicians play and participation in band activities.
The band practice field is located at Perimeter and Cherry roads next to the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts parking lot. The Tiger Band Kidz Club is not responsible for unsupervised children.
The Tiger Band also is presenting its “90 Minutes Before Kickoff” concerts on home football Saturdays. The concert and pep rally takes place at the outdoor amphitheater near the reflection pond at the center of campus.
An hour-and-a-half before kickoff, the band will perform classics from their repertoire, such as “Tiger Rag” and “Eye of the Tiger,” as well as contemporary songs and half-time show highlights before making its traditional march down Fort Hill Street to Memorial Stadium.
