CLEMSON — Clemson University psychology professor Robin Kowalski was among the finalists for the 2014 S.C. Governor’s Professor of the Year Award.

The award is presented each year to a professor representing the state’s senior public and independent universities and one representing the state’s two-year colleges. This is the 26th year of the award presentation.

Kowalski holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Furman University, a master’s in general psychology from Wake Forest and a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of North Carolina a Greensboro, N.C.

Kowalski’s research interests include cyberbullying; aversive interpersonal behaviors, especially teasing and complaining; health psychology; and courage.
