Learn how to create a backyard landscape in free Sumter class series
SUMTER — Learn how to create beautiful and functional landscapes during the 2014 Sumter County Backyard Landscape Series hosted by Sumter Stormwater Solutions, Sumter County, the city of Sumter and Clemson Extension.
Classes will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on four Tuesdays beginning Feb. 11 at Sumter County Training Center, 1281 N. Main St., Sumter.

Based on the principles of the Carolina Yards and Neighborhoods program, the series is designed to help homeowners achieve their desired landscapes while saving time and money and protecting South Carolina’s natural resources.
Topics include pest management, gardening for wildlife, rain gardens and native plants.
Sumter Stormwater Solutions is a regional collaboration involving Clemson University’s Carolina Clear program in partnership with communities and educators from universities, state agencies and nonprofits.
