Larry Sloan of Seneca joins Clemson Alumni Association board of directors
CLEMSON — The Clemson Alumni Association has named Larry Sloan of Seneca to its board of directors. His term began July 1.
A 1974 graduate of Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, Sloan is retired president and CEO of Electrical Power Products Inc.
At Clemson, Sloan was a member of Tiger Band, the Concert Band and the basketball pep band. He was a member of the Mu Beta Psi National Honorary Musical Fraternity and was its national president in 1974. Later, he was founder of the Tiger Band Association and has served on its board since 1977 and served on the Clemson University Foundation board. He received the Clemson University Distinguished Service Award in 2010.
Professionally, he was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and Electrical Equipment Representatives Association.
He and his wife, Cindy, have two sons, Chris (Clemson ’96) and Scott (U.S. Naval Academy ’01).
The alumni board has 24 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
