CLEMSON — Clemson University’s Watt Family Innovation Center will host a technical interchange meeting (TIM) with IBM Watson experts on Friday. Watson consists of cognitive technologies that can be applied to solve problems in a wide range of domains, including medicine, business and social sciences.

Clemson faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to the TIM that will start at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 4 p.m. in the Watt Center auditorium (room 108). The Watt Center will post the agenda that includes topics for the various sessions throughout the day on the digital signage in the building.

Clemson faculty and researchers have submitted potential use cases to IBM in areas such as genetic disorders, medical imaging and biomanufacturing that involve processing and analyzing very large data sets. In response, IBM will be providing feedback to Clemson during this meeting on how Watson may be applied to address these use cases.
