CLEMSON — More than 900 graduates received their degrees Friday at Clemson University’s summer graduation ceremony.

“Graduation is one of the most special days in the life of a university,” President James P. Clements said before the graduates crossed the stage at Littlejohn Coliseum to get their degrees.

“This is a day when we celebrate your hard work and your achievements and imagine all of the possibilities that lie ahead for you.”

Four hundred graduates received bachelor’s degrees and 529 received master’s degrees at Friday’s ceremony. The university’s 79 Ph.D. recipients were honored Thursday at the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony.

A posthumous bachelor’s degree in nursing was presented to Bonnie Jean Kay of Easley, who died in May.
