CLEMSON — Betsey Shira of Anderson has been honored with the Clemson University Board of Visitors Service Award.

Shira is the administrative coordinator for the office of the vice president for finance and operations. She has worked for Clemson since 1991 and for the state of South Carolina for 46 years.

“Betsey is trusted and respected as an authority on administrative as well as personal matters and is always willing to help those seeking her advice or assistance,” said Board of Visitors chairman Sam Dozier. “Her service to this campus shows that she is dedicated to the success of Clemson University.”

Each year since 2006, the board has presented the award to a staff member who has served the university continuously in an outstanding manner with little recognition. This year’s award was presented at the annual Board of Visitors meeting.
