Brandt Gilbert of Greenville elected to Clemson Alumni Association board
CLEMSON – The Clemson Alumni Association has selected Dr. Brandt Gilbert as one of its five new members to serve on its board of directors. His three-year term began July 1.
Gilbert is a life-long resident of Greenville. He earned a B.S. from Clemson in Marketing in 2000, a Master’s of Human Resource Development from Clemson in 2002 and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011. He is a general dentist at Gilbert Dental Group, which was founded by his grandfather in 1945. Gilbert volunteers at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic and has served as Deacon at First Baptist Church.
At Clemson University, Gilbert was a member of Tiger Brotherhood and the IPTAY Student Advisory Board. He has remained involved in the university as an IPTAY representative and has emeritus status on the board of directors of the Greenville Clemson Club. Before medical school, he worked at Clemson as the assistant executive director of IPTAY.
Gilbert is married to fellow Clemson alumna Clay Heatly Gilbert (B.A. ’01, MAPC ’03), and they have two children, Molly and Jack.
The alumni board has 24 members and is the governing body for the Clemson Alumni Association. Primary responsibilities of the board include general oversight of the programs and initiatives of the association, financial audit and review, the establishment of governing policies and strategic planning.
