Advancing play to be focus of Clemson conference
CLEMSON — The US Play Coalition’s 2015 Conference on the Value of Play: Advancing Play will take place Feb, 15-18, 2015, at Clemson University’s Madren Center.
The latest research and practices in the field of play will be presented at the conference, which brings together leading play researchers and advocates from across the U.S. and world. The event includes educational sessions and tracks, grant opportunities, dozens of renowned speakers and opportunities for play.
Event organizers welcome presentation proposals from various disciplines to the conference. Proposal submissions are due Sept. 17.
“This conference is an opportunity to share how you are implementing innovative strategies to engage your community in play,” said Fran Mainella, who co-chairs the US Play Coalition. “We also seek research that illuminates the diverse benefits of play, including social, emotional and cognitive well-being. Our goal is to bring these many perspectives together and to facilitate the development of new methods of advancing the play movement.”
Conference registration is available online, with discounted rates available until Nov. 7. Full conference and single-day rates are also available. The conference includes four meals, educational sessions and complimentary hospitality room time.
