Kyle Brinkman

Kyle Brinkman of Clemson University is one of the new editors of the Journal of Materials Science.

It’s the latest in a string of honors for Brinkman, who is not only a faculty member at Clemson but also a graduate.

Brinkman’s new position was announced in an editorial in the journal, saying that he would help “strengthen our coverage of Chemical Routes to Materials, but also bring a focus to our sections on Energy Materials.”

Brinkman received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a Master of Science in materials science and engineering from Clemson before going to the Swiss Institute of Technology for his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering.

He joined Clemson in 2014 from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River National Laboratory,  where he was a principal engineer in Science and Technology.

He now serves as an associate professor in Clemson’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Read more about Brinkman in the journal’s announcement: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10853-017-1656-7
