CLEMSON — The Division of Student Affairs is hosting an inaugural campuswide Clemson University Leadership Conference in the Hendrix Student Center on Saturday, Nov. 10. Interested participants can register online for only $20, which includes conference materials and lunch.

“This conference provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to come together to learn and grow as leaders for our campus, community and world,” said Josh Barnes, director of Student Involvement and Leadership. “The theme, ‘It’s our Time,’ reflects the desire as campus community members to step up to our responsibility as leaders. It expresses urgency for positive change and making a difference. We hope this conference inspires a sense of community or tackling the challenges of leadership.”

The conference is scheduled to include a variety of educational sessions on leadership as well as a keynote presentation from Celeste Headlee, an award-winning journalist, public speaker and author. Headlee wrote a book entitled “We Need to Talk – How to Have Conversations That Matter” and has enjoyed a 19-year career with NPR, anchoring shows such as “All Things Considered,” “Talk of the Nation,” “Tell me More” and “Weekend Edition.”

Educational session program proposals are currently being accepted through Friday, Oct. 5. Program proposals should be related to the conference theme. If selected, educational session presenters will have registration fees waived.
