Counselor education/student affairs graduate student Brittney Smith has received the 2015 Advisor of the Year Award from the S.C. Organization for Residence Education.

Counselor education/student affairs graduate student Brittney Smith has received the 2015 Advisor of the Year Award from the S.C. Organization for Residence Education.

Brittney Smith, a graduate student in Clemson University’s Eugene T. Moore School of Education, received the 2015 Advisor of the Year Award from the South Carolina Organization for Residential Education (SCORE).

She accepted the award at the 2015 Score Conference hosted at Clemson University, which brings together residence hall student leaders from across state of South Carolina.

The award is given to an advisor of a residential student organization in the state of South Carolina for his or her outstanding contributions to his or her students, his or her university and the state of South Carolina.

A student pursuing a masters of education in counselor education (student affairs), Smith serves as a graduate assistant for advising. Through this assistantship, she advises the Residence Hall Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary.

SCORE is the South Carolina state organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. SCORE provides leadership opportunities for students, shares residence hall programming resources and best practices, and coordinates activities with professional associations and business partners.
