Clemson MBA program expands innovative speaker series
Clemson University’s MBA Program is strengthening its focus on innovation and entrepreneurship by expanding its lunchtime Innovative Leadership Series on Fridays.
The next guest speaker in the series will be entrepreneur and angel investor Tony Philipp on Friday, April 7, noon-1:30 p.m., at Greenville ONE.
“The Innovative Leadership Series is one more way Clemson’s MBA program prepares its students for leadership roles in the innovation economy,” said Greg Pickett, director of MBA programs and senior associate dean for the College of Business. “These proven business leaders will kick off each residency weekend for our graduate-program students, but the public is also welcome to attend.”
The Innovative Leadership Series is expanding to seven times annually. The Clemson MBA program, which has more than doubled in size in the last six years, co-sponsors the series with the Arthur M. Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
The leadership series links proven innovation economy leaders like Philipp to students and the Upstate business community.
Philipp is an investor in new technology companies in the Southeast and has launched five start-up internet companies in the mobile entertainment and advertising sectors. The Clemson alum has also held corporate leadership positions where he has been responsible for strategic partnerships with media companies, including Disney, Google, Yahoo, AOL and Grolier, to name a few.
