Clemson competes again to become nation’s top outdoor school
Clemson University students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members and friends are invited to participate in the 2016 Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge to build upon last year’s top-25 finish and prove that Clemson is the nation’s top outdoor school!
Through the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge, campus communities join together in an attempt to get the most people outside and active. Nearly 90 colleges and universities across the U.S. are participating in this year’s edition of the “Mother Nature meets March Madness”-style challenge, which runs Sept. 4 through Oct. 15.
The college or university that gets the most people outdoors and documenting those experiences during the six-week period will win the National Outdoor Championship. Participants register online at www.oncampuschallenge.org, create an account, select the school they are supporting, log their outdoor activities, and earn points for themselves and their school. Weekly leaders are eligible to win outdoor gear from event sponsors such as REI and The North Face.
For more information about the event and how to get involved, check out the Conservation, Parks and Recreation Club of Clemson Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org. To learn more about outdoor recreation opportunities at Clemson, explore the trips and programs offered through Clemson Outdoor Recreation and Education or visit the website for Clemson’s parks, recreation and tourism management department website. Participants are encouraged to use #outdoornation and #CUoutside hashtags in all challenge-related posts.
The Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge is a program of The Outdoor Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established by Outdoor Industry Association to inspire and grow future generations of outdoor enthusiasts.
