The College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences recently honored staff and faculty for innovative teaching, student engagement, achievements in research and service and dedication to the college and students. They were recognized at the Faculty and Staff Awards ceremony April 25.

Staff who were awarded included:

  • New Employee Award – Bianca Schuster, Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management.
  • Team Player Award – Kristen Lawson, School of Nursing and Deb Galinsky, Department of Psychology
  • Outstanding Student Service Award – Stacey Marcus, Academic Advising Center

Faculty and staff also received College Awards of Excellence. These honorees included:

  • Award of Excellence for Innovation – Nancy Meehan, School of Nursing, and Adam Savedra and Rick Lucas, Department of Parks Recreation and Tourism Management
  • Award of Excellence in Service and Outreach – Megan Kyle, Joseph F. Sullivan Center
  • Award for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Collaboration – Robin Kowlaski, Department of Psychology and Sue Limber, Department of Youth, Family, and Community Studies
  • Award of Excellence in Academic Advising – Jennifer Holland, Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice
  • Award for Excellence in Student Engagement – Janice Lanham, School of Nursing and Jeff Fine, Department of Political Science.
  • Excellence in Teaching at the Undergraduate Level – Lauren Duffy, Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management
  • Excellence in Teaching at the Graduate Level – Barry Garst, Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Development
  • Excellence in Global Engagement – Zeynep Taydas, Department of Political Science
  • Award of Excellence in Research – Marissa Shuffler, Department of Psychology and Tom Britt, Department of Psychology

The Clemson University College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences is focused on becoming a national and international leader in solving the problems faced by individuals, families, communities and societies. Established in July 2016, it aims to equip students and engage research and outreach to address health and wellness challenges, tackle human impacts on the environment, and build stronger communities by better understanding human, political and social behavior and the impact of an ever-connected world.
